I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it. I took some time off so I would not lose my mind.
The two days prior to Turkey Day I spent making all my make aheadable side dishes. I marinated and wrapped the green beans in bacon, I made the sweet potatoes, baked the cheesecake, made croissant dough, baked Pecan and Pumpkin pies, and whipped cream cheese with herbs.
The day of I woke at 6am. After letting the dogs out to do their doggy business I set to work. I made cheddar cheese gougeres, potato pancakes for smoked salmon, I baked rolls and croissants, and baked off the apple tart. I managed to get to my mom’s house at 11:30 … a testament to my time management skills!
Dinner was delish and I have pics of the desserts to add to the gallery soon. Maybe as early as tonight.
Tonight, it is left-over turkey chili. Mmmmm.
So, now we get ready for Christmas. I have the house all decorated and I will begin my cookie bake-a-thon this week.
Oh, and Nigella has updated her website. Check it out!! It rocks my evil socks!!
